Open Letter to The Cubicle Worker

Dear Cubicle Worker,

I understand your pain. Working at a place you hate totally sucks. It’s bad enough to suffer 90 minutes in commuter traffic. But to have to come in to deal with people who obviously require medication is just a travesty. And yes the unidentifiable stain on the seat of your pants from the subway seat will wash out.

To answer your question - does the work you do make a difference?
Maybe, maybe not. The point is you hate the shit regardless. Even if your job is saving one-eyed, hump backed children from Guatemala. We both know you could give a rat’s ass if the customer is happy. What you do know is that if you have to hear your co-worker pop her gum one more time, you will go totally f-ing postal.

Let’s face it. In spite of some war-mongering politicians in office, wantonly killing your fellow office personnel is still a big no-no here within the boundaries of the good ole USA.

And Naw, a vacation ain’t gonna fix your ticket.

It’s time to get out buddy. Could finding another 9 to 5 or 8 to late be the solution for you? Maybe. Some people are meant to be cogs in the system, dedicated workers to the ‘man’. That could be you. If you are lucky, there’ll be a nice 401K in it for you.

New thought here - stay with me- how about making your own money? Stop waiting for someone to give you a paycheck. Yeah how about creating a service, or a product or even teaching something you know about? Better yet do one of those things around something you love. A passion. That way when you get up to go to work it doesn’t feel like . . . well work.

Can you make a living like that? Of freaking course you can. It ain’t easy. Don’t get me wrong. There is a learning curve. You may have to pick up a friggin’ book and read. Or at least listen to a podcast. I know you have friggin’ itunes, go download something on how to start your own business, or self-confidence, or home based businesses.

Hmm, check out Seth Godin, Barbara Sher, Barbara Winter, Valerie Young, T. Harv Eker, Robert Kiyosaki, Robert Allen, Marshall Sylver. Anyone of those people offer tons of information on becoming financially independent or how to make a living doing something you love.

Isn’t life too darn short?

Leaving the cubicle life is scary. I get it. But can’t you feel time slipping away? Do you want your legacy to be office b.s. politics, begging for raises, and coworker gossip? Or do you want to wake up every morning content you are on the path that is meant uniquely for you?

Take it one step at a time. Change takes time. Make a plan. Get another job that is not as toxic.

But you must start to bring in income based on your terms. If you’re smart and lucky the money will come from doing something you love.

**Shameless plug coming***

Clueless about things you can do to make money? No problem. Check out this e-book. www.58easywaystomakemoney.com. There’s over 58 ideas almost anyone can do. Yes, that includes you.

Now go get a Yahoo! and chill until it’s time to go home.

How to Make Money In Real Estate Without A License

How to Make Money In Real Estate Without A License

Yes, you can learn how to make money in real estate without being a broker or licensed real estate agent.

And yes you CAN do it Legally.

Creative Real Estate Investing is about buying, selling, and holding property for profit.

Yes, yes I know there are lots of negative press about investors who are swindlers. Forget them. There are plenty of ethical investors making a bundle that are actually helping people out of tough situations.

Property at times can be a liability. Let's say your Aunt Clara leaves you her dilapidated ranch house in Florida. You live in NY. Hello headache. A standard agent may not even waste time with this property 'cuz there is not enough money in it.

Hello - real estate investor. A creative real estate investor would be happy to take shack of your hands. You get money, the house is out of your name. Happy you.

The investor would then rehabilitate the house, sell it for profit or keep it as a rental property.

Everybody wins.

There are a number of investing techniques anyone can learn. The best part is that it is possible to get started with absolutely no or little money.

I know because I've done it.

Educate yourself before you jump in the pool. www.creonline.com is a good place to start.

How to Make Money if You Are A Shopaholic

How to Make Money With Mystery Shopping

OK, I'm more about learning how to make money by creating a one-woman business. If you love playing spy then mystery could be a way to make money for you.

On my own hunt to make cash I joined mysteryshops.com. I haven't completed any survey but here's the skinny.

Stores come to legitimate Mystery shopper agencies to request a mystery shopper. Shoppers are required to go to the store and usually have to check out how well customer service operates. Details may vary according to the assingment.

After registration an applicant becomes an Auditor. Auditors go to "Find Jobs" section on the website to see the latest postings. Postings are based according to the area one lives in but an Auditor can shop in other areas.

I have seen stores like Kmart, Pizza Hut, Foot Locker, Exxon and Papa John's listed. The pay for the assignment has ranged from $5 to $15 for the completion of each assignment. To complete an assignment a shopper has to go to the store a buy an item within the prescribed reimbursement range. The Auditor must then submit a report on the website along with a receipt.

Auditor are assigned a rating between 1 to 5. The rating may fall due a number of reasons.

Now I haven't seen jobs that pay more than $20.00 tops. However that may be because
of my auditor rating which is a 3.

Payments to Auditors are sent out weekly.

Five Ways To Make Money This Year

Five Ways to Make More Money This Year
(and hell no it ain't about working for someone else!)

1. Internet Marketing
The internet is the number one source for information. When people find what they want they buy it. There are tons of internet marketers selling great information online in the forms of e-books (a simple MS Word document converted to a .pdf), how-to videos, and audio recordings.

All that is needed is a simple one page website. Now with sites like www.freeweb.com and googlepages.com - designing a simple site can be done in an hour.

Know about a particular topic? If so compose a simple word document, video yourself talking about or record a podcast. Quality is important.

Depending on the topic and length of the product a person can charge anywhere between $7 to $997. Though the average range is about $47.

Here's a good book to learn about writing ebooks : Building an Ebook Empire

2. Creative Real Estate -
No license necessary. Real Estate is one of the bonafide methods to creating wealth. Creative real estate is the process of using non-traditional (AND LEGAL) methods to buy and sell real estate. Becoming a creative real estate investor requires effort ( and a learning curve) but you won't waste money sucking up to a broker as a licensed real estate agent.

Learn more at www.creonline.com

3. Affiliate Marketing
There's about a gazillion people selling products on the internet. Those folks find others to help sell the product for a percentage of the product.

Amazon is an example of a site that uses affiliates. However Amazon pays a small percentage to sellers. There are other publishers of product who will pay up to Half of any profit.

Check out paydotcom.com, clickbank.com, shareasale.com, and affiliatedirectory.com to learn more.

4. Freelance -
Use what you got to get what you want. Put those 9 to 5 skills in your off time. Check out the ton of freelance sites on the web like guru.com, elance.com and getafreelancer.com.

5. Research, Research, Research
